Learned a way to complete assignments

These are the last days of my second semester in the college, and this is the time to get completed with and getting checked all the assignments, practical files etc. I am good at my studies, but unfortunately very bad at assignments; not with the matter or topic, but with their submission.
Whenever we get an assignment or file to complete, we are told the date by which we have to finish it. I used to note that date the whole semester, for every assignment, and waited for the day, to work on it a day previous to the due date. This was the thing I was wrong at.
Unfortunately, whenever the date came, I used to have some other work or I wasn't well to complete this one. The next day, I used to visit the college with no completed work. And, ultimately, on the day of last lectures, I am here with no assignment submissions. I have completed one of my project file in the very last lecture; and got it checked from the teacher, fortunately, without getting scolded.
Talking about another assignment, that one is yet holding me in trouble. A few days ago, I came to know that this one was due about 15 days ago. This one was given by the teacher about two months ago; and I hadn't yet started it. I was shocked and worried. On the day of our second last lecture, many students got that file checked and Sir checked it without any complaints because of more strength. I had started it that day, but not completed. I was unhappy because that was perhaps the last opportunity for me to get the file checked without any problem, but I lost this one too. The next lecture was after a week. But I could get it checked by visiting the Sir any day.
It wasn't complete even the next day (Thursday). I decided to complete it and get it Checked on Friday, but Friday was suddenly declared a holiday. Saturday and Sunday are already holidays. On Monday, I was done with the file, but many other problems arose, like got a broken file cover, and had many other works to do within the college. After the whole day, when it was the time for Sir to be free, I went to his office, and found him leaving the place. I couldn't stop him for just checking my file. Again, I was very sad.
In this way, I was getting more late in getting it checked and the risks of the punishment were increasing. The next day, I again went to his office, but someone else told that he didn't come to college. Ugh! very very sad.
The next day (Wednesday), again declared a holiday. And it's Thursday today, an exam day. I hope to find him to check my file today.
From this 'to be continued' incident, after a deep thinking, I came to learn that in case of such tasks, I shouldn't consider the last date of submission, but the first day of availability of work. From now, I would first note down the date of availability of work from teacher and start it that very day, whatever the last date be. And will submit it much before the due date.
The last posts by me regarding Time Management are the summary of my thoughts. And I am going to follow them from now forever very strictly.
